Yep, Oliver turned one month old yesterday and it has been the best month of my life. I really love how Joanna posts monthly baby updates and I thought I’d copy her format 🙂
1 Month Update
February 20th, 2011
Last weight check on Feb. 8th he was 10 pounds, 10 ounces and had been gaining 1 ounce a day.
Best guess now is about 11 pounds, 6 ounces Ok, I weighed myself holding him than weighed myself alone – he’s actually closer to 12.5 pounds!
His neck is already strong and he loves to hold his head up and look all around while we hold him.
He also has crazy strong arms and legs. Matthew had to develop a special swaddle just to keep him wrapped up at night because he escapes like Houdini from every normal swaddle.
On good days he sleeps 5 hours straight at night, wakes up to eat, then sleeps another 3 or 4 hours. However, on growth spurt days, he may stay up all night eating every hour and only cat nap in between feedings…such as last night.
Lots of breast milk!
Very mellow and generally happy (also sleepy most of the time) except when he’s gassy. He has a sensitive tummy and it seems dairy, tomatoes, and peanuts cause some trouble.
Highlight of the Month:
There’s a highlight every day, but one really great moment this past month was when we found out that he didn’t have a hernia and would not need a surgery. That was a BIG highlight 🙂
It has been a month full of firsts for our little guy!
Oliver’s very first photo 🙂
First time being held by mommy (little scrape on his cheek from the scalpel when the Dr. was getting him out)
First family photo
First bath in the nursery
And first car ride
