Two reasons to visit the Winter Park Art Festival:
Chris Seeman and James Mullen.
He takes sheets of metal, sketches his design, then cuts it out with a blow torch. Their varnished and can be hung inside or out. Each piece takes about a week.
He’s been collecting wooden birds since he was sixteen. He hand paints them, attaches small metal pieces and affixes the birds onto various antique objects, such as binoculars, cameras, microscopes, globes, etc.
And he’s now started creating large insects out of old drafting tools:
Our collection of James’ work so far, and my new one, Juilette.
