so went to the shopping center at lakemont and aloma to get a box custom made for a painting I really needed to get out. The guy hand cuts each box (meaning my single panel one cost $11 while the double panel would’ve been $25. yowza.) It was a twenty minute wait so we went over the the thrift shop where I found some vintage looking lace I can use for collages, an old US navy book with great illustrations, and this – the spiffiest little postcard I’ve ever come across:
Aaaaand, I was SO excited when these came in the mail today.
I ordered this lot of 100 old photographs from a great gal on ebay (an artist actually – http://itsmysite.com/jblack/) and she shipped them out THAT afternoon. So I bought them the 22nd and I got them today, the 25th. That’s awesome. Check out the funky polka-dot tissue paper they came in! I can’t wait to use these in some mixed media pieces. I’ll be using photo copies of course though. I can never part with the real ones once I have them. I want to get nice ones done at kinkos though. Our scanner turns them into streaky crap.
And a new piece. I kind of want to add more, but I don’t have much masculine ephemera (just learned that’s what that stuff is called)…I don’t really want to slap on flowers and lace for this one…
